I have worked in research, in small hospitals and University settings. I have a seizure disorder, I certainly understand how people and families feel. Legally speaking as a Neurodiagnostic Technician, you cannot tell the patient anything. Is it just spikes the neuro looks for? Thanks you for any info while I wait for neuro to call in a few days. Is the eeg that easy to read that the tech could interpret the results also. Or does the neuro look for other things besides spikes. Just wondering if because tech said it looked okay that means he knows it's normal.
But he will give it to neuro who will call me with results. The technician said everything looked okay and no spikes. The more sleep deprived I get the worse it is. I have cycles of these "fits" for a few weeks and then I'm better again. My husband tried to hold me down once and he couldn't. I woke up once and started to feel the "feeling" and tried very hard by holding on to the bed and holding covers tightly but felt the electric charge run from my stomach to my head & flew out of bed. I have fear and maybe feels like I stop breathing. I get up from the floor, get back in bed, fall asleep for only minutes and fling myslef on the floor. I have been living for many, many years with falling asleep for a very short time and then awaken to finding myself on the floor all banged up. I finally saw a neurologist who specializes in sleep disorders and epilepsy.
